Huawei says that the world does not end with this one increasing trade war, so here’s the Mate 40 series for you. The Mate 40 Pro, a high-end almost-flagship that stands just below the ultimate Mate 40 Pro+, is up for review.
We say almost-flagship since there is a better option, but the Mate 40 Pro is nothing short of a top-tier device. The display is immediately noticeable – a 6.76-inch OLED that wraps around the sides of the tablet, akin to the Mate 30 from last year, but even more dramatic.
Turn around to the rear, and you’ll be welcomed by a camera setup you haven’t seen before – proving that unique design is still feasible. Inside that circle is a genuine tri-set of cameras, including a 50MP primary unit and a 5x periscope tele from the P40 Pro, as well as a new 20MP ultra-wide.
